Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center in Cleveland (Ohio), Neurology Clinic of the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade

(Serbia) and Association of Serbian Neurologists are proud to announce the Epilepsy Surgery Course to be held in Mecavnik (Serbia) (http://www.astratravel.rs/mecavnik.php) from April 18th to 21st 2013.

Course description: This two and a half days course will focus on the basic principles and controversies in epilepsy surgery. All aspects of the basic principles will be covered including initial management of the patient with spells, imaging of the patients with epilepsy, and rational approach in decision making of the lesional and nonlesional refractory epilepsy surgery patients. More advanced part of the course will embrace controversial issues in epilepsy surgery management such as approach to bilateral temporal lobe epilepsy, role of the surgical techniques, choices of the invasive evaluation method, reconsidering second surgery if first fails etc. In addition, the course will comprise workshops (presentations of the straightforward and complicated epilepsy patient’s surgical management in small groups led by members of the faculty).

Course participants: Seats are limited to 40 and will be provided by first come-first served basis.

Target audience: This activity is intended for neurologists and other medical professionals with a specific interest in the management of epilepsy.

Invited Faculty Members: epileptologists employed at Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center and most prominent Epilepsy Centers in Europe.
