Department of movement disorders is involved in clinical and research activities in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and movement disorders. The Department provides services related to diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremor, ataxia, chorea, tics, myoclonus, Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementias and less common neurodegenerative diseases. The Institute applies the most contemporary biochemical, electrophysiological, neuroimaging and genetic diagnostic methods, as well as SPECT analysis aimed at differential diagnosis of individual neurodegenerative diseases, which has been recently introduced. The examinations are performed in specialist examination rooms (Tuesdays – consultations with all doctors employed at the Department in specialist outpatient Polyclinic offices and Institute of Neurology, Clinical Center of Serbia; Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the Botulin Toxin Unit and Mondays from 12 noon till 3 p.m. at the Center for Memory Disorders).
