Eleonora Dzoljic, MD, PhD, Senior Research Fellow in neurology, specialist in neuropsychiatry and clinical pharmacology, Consultant in neurology at Neurology Clinic, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade (Headed by Academician Professor V.Kostic, MD, PhD), has focused her scientific interest mainly in degenerative disorders of the central nervous system.

Since January 1988 has been employed at Institute of Neurology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade (Headed by Professor Z.Levic, MD, PhD) and in 1998 she joined Department for Neurodegenerative Diseases and Movement Disorders (Headed by Academician Professor V.Kostic, MD, PhD).

After exam for Board certificated Neurologist and Psychiatrist at School of Medicine, University of Belgrade became a specialist in neuropsychiatry in 1991 and Consultant since 1991.

She completed her subspecialisation level in Clinical pharmacology with pharmacotherapy as a sort of additional specialisation at School of Medicine, University of Belgrade in January 2006.

Senior Research Fellow in neurology – appointed by School of Medicine, University of Belgrade and Ministry of Science Republic of Serbia in October 2004 and reappointed in July 2010.

PhD thesis titled: “Nitric Oxide and the Central Nervous System” made and defended in 1998 at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Master's degree titled "The influence of enkephalinase inhibitors on the central effects of endogenous opioids", at School of Medicine, University of Belgrade in 1988.

Dr E. Dzoljic is born in Belgrade (1959), graduated the primary school in 1974 and secondary school (Gymnasium) in 1978 with “summa cum lauda” degree. Studied medicine at the School of Medicine, University of Belgrade and finished with average mark 9.93 (of maximal 10).

During the study dr E.Dzoljic was involved in research projects and was awarded for the best presentations at several scientific meetings (Congress of Students of Medicine and Dental Medicine of Yugoslavia in1983 and 1984, Congress of Serbian Anti Cancer Society in 1985, Meeting of Serbian Medical Youth Organisation in 1985). She joined International Organization of Medical Students and participated in the summer hospital practice in Denmark in 1983 (Copenhagen, surgery, headed by Prof T.Drazewiecki; Arhus, surgery, headed by Prof Y.Kill) and in The Netherlands, 1984 (Rotterdam, internal medicine, headed by Prof J.Birkenhager).

For excellent achievement during medical studies she was granted the Belgrade University scholarship (1980) as well as the postgraduate fellowship by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (1985).

Dr E.Dzoljic published many papers in international as well as national scientific/professional publications (journals, monographs, books) with 140 citations until 2009 by Science Citation Index. She has numerous presentations at international and national congresses and meetings that were published as abstracts.

She has been participated as investigator neurologist or clinical pharmacologist in neurological research projects and clinical trials concerning mainly degenerative disorders of the central nervous system (Principal Investigator Academician Professor V.Kostic, MD, PhD), then epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

-3rd PLACE IN THE POSTER AWARD COMPETITION at MDS Congress: Mental Dysfunction in Parkinson’s Disease, 2004, Salzburg, Austria.
