Dr Aleksandra M. Pavlović is employed as a neurologist at the Department for Cerebrovascular Disease and in the Neurosonology Laboratory at the Clinic for Neurology. She graduated at the School of Medicine in Belgrade in 1993 with averaged mark 9.48/10.00. She spent one year at the Internship (1993/1994) in Clinical Center of Srbia. Dr Pavlovic has been working at the Clinic for Neurology since 1994, first within her Master of Science Studies, and then as a specialist in neurology, at first as a volounteer and aferwards employed at the Clinical Center of Serbia. She was trained in neurology at the School of Medicine in Belgrade, from 1995-1999, and passed her specialist board exam in April 1999 with mark Excellent. She worked as a volounteer for a year and starting January 2000 is employed as a specialist in neurology at the Department for Cerebrovascular Diseases. She gained the title „Research Fellow” in Neurology at the School of Medicine in Belgrade in 2010. 
Dr Pavlovic finished her Master of Science thesis at the School of Medicine in Belgrade in November 1999 with the title: "Correlation of brain computed tomography finding and clinical presentation in patients with blunt head injury”, under mentorship of Professor Gordana Ocić. In February 2007 she finished her Doctoral Thesis with the title: ”Ethiopathogenesis and clinical manifestations of adult leukoencephalopathies", under mentorships of Professor Nadežda Čovičković-Šternić and Academician Vladimir S. Kostić.
Dr Pavlovic has been working as an investigator at the following research projects of the Ministry of Science of Republic of Serbia: 1. “Risk factors and clinical significance of cerebral white matter changes of vascular etiology”, project no. 1979, principal investigator Professor N.Šternić, 2002-2005, 2. “Depression caused by vascular cerebral disease: application of neurovisualisation methods in prevention, early detection and treatment”, project no. 175022, principal investigator Professor N.Šternić), 2011-2014. She participated in international research projects: Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia: “Multimodal magnetic resonance imaging in pathogenesis and evolution of ischaemic brain disease”, principal investigator: Prof. Dr S.Davis), 2005-2006; Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia: “PREDICT: PREDiction in Ischaemic Cerebral Transient events”, principal investigator, 2005-2006; Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia “Ischemic lesions recurrence in first three months after initial event in relation to time, vascular territory and acute DWI volume”, principal investigator, 2005-2006; Serbian-Hungarian project: “Two faces of Janus in neurology”, 2010-2011.
Dr Aleksandra Pavlović is a co-founder, co-coordinator, lecturer and mentor at the National School for Neuroangiology of Sebria since it’s founding in 2004. School has been working within the Continuous Medical Education at the School of Medicine in Belgrade, and has been accredited by the Health Councel of Serbia. Dr Pavlović is active in teaching at the School of Medicine in Belgrade in the fields of neurology, cerebrovascular pathology and neuroangiology for residents in neurology, specialist academic studies and doctoral studies in neurology since 2004. She was also a lecturer in several Continuous Medical Education Courses at the School of Medicine in Belgrade (Acute stroke management, Advances in Neurosonology, Cerebral Small Vessel Disease: diagnostic and clinical aspects). Dr Pavlovic had been participating in education of medical students, physicians on internship, and residents of neurology and neurosurgery in Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr Pavlovic is author of numerous papers in Serbian and international peer-reviewed journal with cerebrovascular topics. She is a reviewer for Stroke journal.
Dr Aleksandra M. Pavlović is active in international meetings dedicated to cerebrovascular pathology. She had several oral presentations on international congresses and conferences: ”Vasomotor reactivity and microembolus detection”, at the International Conference ”Trends in Neurosonology”, Belgrade, Serbia October 29th 2010; ”Impaired vasomotor reactivity in patients with small-vessel disease is a marker of disease clinical and imaging severity”, at the 19th European Stroke Conference, Barcelona, Spain, May 25-28th 2010; „Recurrent ischemic lesions after acute stroke – serial MRI findings and predictive factors” at the 3rd Central Eastern European Neurological Symposium, Szeged, Hungary, April 27th 2007; ”Ischemic White Matter Lesions in Younger Adults: Correlation with Cognitive Status and Depression” at the International Psychogeriatric Association 2007 European Regional Meeting, Istanbul, Turkey, May 4th 2007; "Clinical and magnetic resonance imaging predictors of recurrent ischemic lesions after acute stroke" at the Stroke Society of Australasia 2005 Annual Scientific Meeting, Melbourne, September 6-9th 2005.
